Former Broadcast DJ

I used to be on the radio.  The first station I was on was WWCK in Flint, Mi in 1980 with a show called Buffalo Dick’s Radio Ranch.  That show was on for a year and won a Billboard award as “Best Locally Produced Show ALL Markets.” It went on to be syndicated on 100+ stations around the country with Westwood One.

Then I went to WIOT in Toledo with Mark Benson.  We were the Dawnbusters.  Then went on to WXKR then back to WIOT.  In 1996 I left for Peoria, IL to do a morning TV show called the Morning Mix.  My stay was short because Toledo called and offered me my old job back with Mark Benson at WXKR again.  I was there until 2002.

Since then I’ve kicked around a bit, I wrote a book called, “I Used To Be A DJ.”  I’ve worked in TV Sales and was even the Director of Sales & Marketing for the Clarion Hotel.  I even created a show for WIOT that aired on Saturday nights from nine to midnight called “The Man Cave” where we featured a different local band LIVE in the studio, played music, drank a lot of beer and basically had a party on the radio.  It was a blast.  Did I mention I did the show from my house, LIVE on the radio…from my HOUSE?

I even did a couple of years at 107.7 the WOLF (It’s WPFX but NOBODY knows the call letters of the WOLF).  I did an Internet show from my HOUSE.  And now I’m hosting Trivia and Karaoke waiting for the next big adventure to show itself.
